AMY TAYLOR-STEWARD

The Year: Final Animation (Original Edit) #TogetherApart This animation depicts the story of 2020 (& beginning of 2021) & how it effected a variety of people. Despite the devastation that the year had left in its wake, people came together & united. My final animation for my final project module at university. With this animation, I have finally completed my studies in BA Hons Animation. I created 2 edits of this animation, this one being the submitted animation for my final project module.

The Year (The Reveal Show Edit) #TogetherApart This animation depicts the story of 2020 (& beginning of 2021) & how it effected a variety of people. Despite the devastation that the year had left in its wake, people came together & united. With this animation, this now marks that I have finally completed my studies in BA Hons Animation. I created 2 edits of this animation, this one being the Reveal Show Edit. To participate in the Reveal Show I had to use stock audio to replace some of the audio from the original edit. This meant I had to re-edit some of the footage as I didn't want the new audio to hinder the animation or make it confusing with the original editing. This new audio however, also adds a new layer of perspective onto the animation as the editing has now been reshuffled.

Now that the competition is over, I can upload my submission to my portfolio. I took part in Kristian Kostov's 'Build Different Animation Jam', in which animators had 2-3 seconds to animate for their submission to the competition. I had the segment in which Kris sings 'Might *@#! it up, Better than nothing' in which I censored the word with a mess/scribble. I also took inspiration from the Build Different Cover art in which the colour palette & some assets were created from. Whilst I did not make the final video, I had fun working with a very short deadline & also maintaining my knowledge & skills in After Effects.
